erandique! (thats where i live)
welp i´ve been in my new site since thurday afternoon and i love it! my boss just came here and dropped me off in the middle of some honduran town all by myself and i was like ¨what? waaaaaaait dont we need to drive over there? youre leaving so soon?¨ luckily its soo beautiful and the weather is perfect cool springlike (i guess its supposed to be like this all year round). everyone in my town is so nice and social. i havent had the chance to make one meal for myself yet because everyone has been inviting me over to their houses. i´ve been double booked twice already! unfortunatly the friendly hospitality has already gotten me a li´l ill...i was voming all day yesterday...honduras diet. but of course my friendly neighbor took care of me all day topping it off witha shot in my butt.
theres a family of north american menonites living here too! MENONITES! those poor souls...i´m going to have them locked up for hours just answering my million questions. i mean they walk around with bonnets and skirts! BONNETS...MENONITES.
my good friend from training lives about an hour down the road from me and shes here right now visiting me! its so great i have friends.
oh yeah i have the cutest li´l colorful beautiful li´l apartment ever with a li´l pink couch and doors that lead to the roof of my neighbors where i hang my laundary.
this town is way bigger than my other one and this side of the country is way different. im getting a li´l bit of culture shock. i mean theres GRASS. and i actually sleep with clothes on and covered up with blankets. have i mentioned that theres natural hot springs near by? i´m only a few hours from ancient myan ruins, a few hours from the beautiful beachs on teh north coast. the west, where i´m living, is the most heavily populated peace corps area in honduras. um...i dont have cellphone service right now but theyre building an anteanna. oh my name is fay...but i still havent gotten used to it. ¨who are you talking about?¨¨what?¨öh me?¨
oh yeah...there was a rat the first night and i had to get my neighbors son to kill it. he said if i ever need any li´l animals killed he would take care of it.
